Candia, NH (September 6, 2026) – A motorcyclist was hurt after a motorcycle went into a ditch near 419 High Street on Friday, September 4. The accident was reported at about 11:33 p.m.
The initial alert confirmed an injury but did not describe its severity or identify the rider.

Roadside Ditches Can Increase Injury Risks for Motorcyclists
Motorcycles provide little physical protection when a rider leaves the paved roadway. Entering a ditch can expose the rider to uneven ground, steep slopes, rocks, drainage structures, vegetation, and other fixed objects.
A motorcycle can also become unstable quickly when its tires move from pavement onto loose soil, gravel, or grass. Speed, the angle of departure, terrain, and protective equipment can influence how much force reaches the rider.
Helmets and protective clothing may reduce some forms of trauma, but motorcyclists remain more exposed than occupants of enclosed vehicles. Head, chest, arm, and leg injuries can occur when a rider is thrown from the bike or contacts the ground. Darkness may add another challenge by making roadside hazards harder to see before leaving the travel lane.
