Spring Township, PA (July 21, 2026) – A 28-year-old motorcyclist lost his life following a Sunday evening collision on the 1700 block of Shermans Valley Road in Spring Township, Perry County. Emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 8:10 p.m. on July 19.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, James Snyder of Millerstown was traveling eastbound on Shermans Valley Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. Investigators said the motorcycle left the roadway and traveled along an embankment before re-entering the road and colliding with a westbound vehicle. Troopers said the driver of the second vehicle attempted to swerve to avoid the motorcycle.
Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital for further medical evaluation. Authorities have not released additional information regarding that person’s condition.
