Safety Concerns in Rollover Crashes
Rollover crashes can cause significant vehicle damage and may leave occupants trapped inside. SUVs and other taller vehicles can be more vulnerable to rolling when they lose control or experience a sudden change in direction.
Seat belts provide protection by helping keep occupants inside the vehicle during a rollover. Drivers can also reduce risk by maintaining a safe speed, avoiding abrupt steering, and leaving enough space from surrounding traffic.
