Multi-Vehicle Accidents and Traffic Delays
Multi-vehicle accidents can quickly create significant traffic disruptions, especially near highway interchanges and ramps. Disabled vehicles and debris may require lane closures while crews clear the roadway.
Drivers approaching a roadway closure should reduce speed and follow posted detours. Sudden lane changes or attempts to pass through restricted areas can create additional hazards.
Keeping a safe following distance gives motorists more time to react to stopped or slowing traffic. Staying attentive near busy interchanges can help reduce the risk of another collision.
