Muncie, IN (February 1, 2026) – Emergency crews responded Saturday morning to a single-vehicle crash with injuries near the Speedway gas station on North Wheeling Avenue in Muncie, according to dispatch communications.
The collision occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. on February 1 near the intersection of Wheeling Ave, West Riggin Road, and West Quilling Drive. Initial reports described the accident as serious, with concerns that the driver might be trapped inside the vehicle. Rescue units, fire crews, and medics were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders made contact with the driver, who was initially uncooperative. Despite early concerns, it was later confirmed that all occupants were able to exit the vehicle without extraction. Medics evaluated those involved, and at least one injury was reported, though the severity has not been disclosed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no additional vehicles were believed to be involved. The gas station area remained active with emergency personnel as the scene was secured and care provided.
