Why Wrong-Way Crashes Are Often Fatal
Wrong-way crashes are among the deadliest types of collisions because vehicles collide head-on, combining the speed of both cars into one forceful impact. Even at moderate speeds, these crashes can cause catastrophic injuries due to the sudden, high-energy collision.
They often occur at night or in low-visibility conditions, which can delay reaction time for both the wrong-way driver and others on the road. Quick reporting by witnesses and rapid emergency response are critical, though injuries are often severe or fatal in these situations.
