Frequently Asked Questions
What time of day are impaired-driving crashes most common?
They tend to cluster in the late-night and early-morning hours, roughly midnight to sunrise, when traffic is lighter but impairment rates among drivers on the road climb.
Is "buzzed" driving really dangerous?
Yes. Even blood alcohol levels below the legal limit slow reaction time and judgment, which can be enough to cause a crash at an intersection or during a turn.
How can I avoid driving after drinking?
Plan ahead with a designated driver, rideshare, or taxi before you start drinking, and keep that plan even if you feel capable of driving later.
What should I do if I suspect a drunk driver near me?
Keep a safe distance, avoid trying to pass or signal them, and call local police or 911 with a location and vehicle description so officers can respond.
