North Las Vegas, NV (March 23, 2026) – Two people were killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lone Mountain Road and Clayton Street. The incident occurred around 1:05 a.m.
Police reported that a 2016 Honda HR-V, traveling eastbound on Lone Mountain Road at a high rate of speed, ran a red light and struck a northbound 2005 Ford Expedition on Clayton Street. The collision caused both vehicles to spin through the intersection, leave the roadway, and strike fixed objects, including a power pole and a wall.
A 38-year-old woman passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The 53-year-old male driver of the Ford was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition and later died. Two other occupants were transported to the hospital with injuries and are expected to survive. Impairment is suspected as a contributing factor, and police obtained a search warrant for blood samples from the Honda driver.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and more details will be released as they become available.

High-Speed Collisions at Intersections
Crashes at intersections are particularly dangerous when drivers fail to stop or run red lights. High-speed impacts can cause vehicles to spin, strike objects, or leave the roadway, dramatically increasing the risk of serious injuries or fatalities.
Impairment, distraction, and speeding are common factors in intersection collisions. Even minor deviations from traffic signals can lead to multi-vehicle incidents. Emergency response, including rapid medical attention, is critical for improving survival chances for those involved.
