Oakland, CA (January 8, 2026) – A 39-year-old woman was injured on Wednesday morning after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street near E 31st St in Oakland, according to public safety dispatch information.
The incident was reported around 8:46 a.m. on January 7. Paramedics responded to the scene and found the pedestrian alert and stable after being struck at an estimated speed of 15 miles per hour.
Medical personnel reported that the woman suffered a closed knee injury along with mild lower back pain. She remained conscious at the scene and was not on any blood-thinning medications. Vital signs indicated a stable condition, and there were no signs of midline neck tenderness.
Due to the nature of the incident and potential trauma concerns, the woman was transported to Highland Hospital under a code three trauma activation for further evaluation.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the driver or the cause of the collision. An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
