OCALA, Marion County, FL, Sept. 29, 2026 — Two people died and a third was hospitalized as a trauma alert after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday, September 29, at the intersection of SE Maricamp Road and SE 36th Avenue in Ocala.
Local authorities said two people were pronounced dead at the scene. A third occupant was transported to a hospital as a trauma alert, an emergency medical designation reserved for patients with serious injuries.
The crash forced a wide closure in the area. Eastbound lanes of SE Maricamp Road were blocked from the intersection with SE 36th Avenue, and north and south lanes were shut between SE Maricamp Road and SE 31st Street.
