Solon, IA (August 28, 2026) – One pedestrian was airlifted on Thursday night, August 27, after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in the 4200 block of 180th Street Northeast in Solon. The incident happened shortly after 8:00 p.m.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, a 40-year-old man was walking east when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver left the scene, and authorities had not identified the type of vehicle involved.
The injured pedestrian was taken by medical helicopter to the University of Iowa Health Care for treatment.
Solon Fire Department, Johnson County EMS, and AirCare also responded. Authorities continue investigating the crash.
