Phoenix, AZ (July 17, 2026) – One man was critically hurt, and two other people were taken to a hospital following a traffic accident on Thursday night at the intersection of 7th St and Bell Rd in north Phoenix. The collision occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. on July 16.

According to available information, a car was traveling west on Bell Rd when it collided with another vehicle that was pulling out of a driveway. Emergency units removed one man from a vehicle before he was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.

The police said two additional people were also taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The intersection was temporarily closed while the roadway was examined. The identities of those involved have not been released.

Investigators continue to examine the circumstances that led to the crash, and additional information may be released as the review progresses.

We are keeping everyone affected in our thoughts and wish those hurt a full recovery.

Why Driveway-Related Collisions Can Be Serious

Collisions involving vehicles entering or leaving driveways can happen when drivers have limited time to judge the speed and distance of approaching traffic. Visibility may also be reduced by parked vehicles, landscaping, buildings, or roadway design.

Detectives usually review vehicle positions, roadway markings, sightlines, and witness statements to determine how the collision occurred. They may also examine damage patterns and other physical evidence to establish the sequence of events. Careful attention when entering a roadway and maintaining awareness of surrounding traffic can help reduce the likelihood of such collisions.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.
