North Royalton, OH (June 17, 2026) – One person died following a two-vehicle crash on the Ohio Turnpike in North Royalton on Tuesday, June 16.
According to information from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred shortly after 2 p.m. in the westbound lanes near the state Route 82 underpass. A preliminary investigation found that a commercial vehicle pulling a trailer struck the rear of a semi tractor-trailer.
Following the collision, the commercial vehicle traveled off the roadway and caught fire. The driver of that vehicle died from injuries sustained in the crash. The person’s identity had not been released as of Tuesday evening. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances that led to the fatal roadway crash.
