Antis Township, PA (August 4, 2026) – A driver died after a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 99 south between Bellwood and Tipton early on Tuesday morning. The wreck happened near mile marker 42.6 in Antis Township.
Joshua Russell Brown, 40, of State College, was traveling in a white pickup truck in the southbound lanes when he collided head-on with a tractor-trailer, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The tractor-trailer driver said they attempted to move toward the median to avoid the pickup, but the vehicles collided.
Brown and the pickup truck were pushed about 180 feet into the center median. The Blair County Coroner’s Office pronounced Brown dead from injuries at 12:50 a.m.
Both directions of I-99 were initially closed, with northbound lanes reopening later in the morning while southbound lanes remained blocked. The cause of the fatal accident is still being examined, and additional details may be released as the review continues.
