Issaquah, WA (May 28, 2026) – A 67-year-old Kent man died on Wednesday after a head-on crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck on State Route 18 near Issaquah-Hobart Road. The collision closed the highway for several hours.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the Kent driver was traveling eastbound when his vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes and struck the semi-truck head-on. The 67-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the semi driver, a 61-year-old man, was not injured.
Investigators determined that unsafe lane passing caused the crash. Troopers also reported that neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor. State Route 18 reopened to traffic at approximately 4 p.m. following the roadway closure. The fatal collision remains under review as investigators complete their findings.
