What Is Examined After a Wrong-Way Motorcycle Collision?
Wrong-way motorcycle collisions require a detailed review to determine how a rider entered the roadway and the sequence of events leading up to the collision. Investigators may examine traffic signs, highway entrance ramps, lighting, and roadway markings to understand whether visibility or roadway design contributed to the fatal collision. Electronic data from nearby cameras or vehicles can also help establish a timeline.
Motorcycle inspections are another routine part of the review. Braking systems, tires, lighting equipment, and other mechanical components may be examined alongside damage to the other vehicle. Witness statements, roadway evidence, and medical findings are also considered as investigators work to develop a complete picture of the circumstances surrounding the collision.
