What Typically Happens After a Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Georgia?
Three-vehicle crashes are among the more complex road accidents to investigate because each vehicle’s movement must be traced independently to understand how the sequence of events unfolded. When one car crosses into oncoming traffic and triggers a chain reaction, investigators look at factors such as speed, road conditions, and whether any mechanical issues contributed to the loss of control. Skid marks, vehicle positions, and damage patterns are all documented carefully before the road reopens.
When a passenger is ejected from a vehicle, it often indicates the person was not wearing a seatbelt or that the force of the collision was severe enough to cause a door to fail. Ejection significantly increases the risk of fatal injury, as the person is exposed to secondary contact with the road or other vehicles. Georgia law requires seatbelt use for all occupants, and ejection data is routinely reviewed as part of crash reconstruction efforts.
