Belleville, IL (July 14, 2026) – One person lost their life, and five others were hurt in a four-vehicle accident on Sunday evening, July 12, on Illinois 13 south of Red Ray Mine Rd in Belleville. The collision was reported at approximately 6:40 p.m.
According to preliminary information from Illinois State Police Troop 8, troopers were dispatched after receiving reports of a fatal four-vehicle collision along the highway. One person was pronounced dead, while five others were reported hurt.
The identity of the person who died and additional details about those involved had not been released at the time of publication.
