Maries County, MO (July 31, 2026) – A 25-year-old man died, and an 18-year-old man was injured on Wednesday, July 29, in a head-on collision on Missouri Route 28. The vehicles came together around 6:40 a.m. near 33998 Missouri Route 28.
The older driver, from St. James, was operating a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica eastbound. The younger motorist, from Owensville, was traveling west in a 2020 Ford F-350.
Both vehicles left the right side of the roadway after making contact. Emergency units took the 18-year-old to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City with moderate injuries. The 25-year-old was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under review.
