Why Head-On Collisions Can Cause Severe Injuries
Head-on collisions can be among the most serious roadway emergencies because both vehicles often meet with strong forward force. People inside may be pushed into seat belts, airbags, dashboards, or doors. Passengers can also face different injury risks based on where they are seated.
When several people are hurt, medical teams may need to check each patient for head, chest, spine, hip, and limb trauma. Investigators may review lane position, speed, road markings, vehicle damage, weather, and witness statements. These details can help explain how one vehicle entered the opposing lane and why the outcome was so severe.
