Ellsinore, MO (June 25, 2026) – One person died, and three others were seriously hurt on Tuesday night, June 23, after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 60 inside Ellsinore. The crash happened around 9:29 p.m. in Carter County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 57-year-old Mountain View man was driving a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD south. A 35-year-old Ellsinore man was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado east.
Investigators said the Silverado failed to yield to the Colorado, which then hit the Silverado. Both vehicles had major damage and were towed.
The Colorado driver died after the collision, and the 40-year-old female passenger in that car was flown to St. Louis University Hospital with serious injuries.
The Silverado driver was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital with serious injuries, and the 51-year-old female passenger in that car was flown to Cox South in Springfield with serious injuries.
