Monroe County, IN (August 4, 2026) – An 18-year-old Campbellsburg man died following a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of S Fairfax Road and E Dillman Road in Monroe County on Monday night. The accident was reported just before 9 p.m.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, the crash involved a Subaru and a Kia. The Subaru driver was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Two passengers in the Subaru were also hurt, including one who was flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries. The Kia driver, a 37-year-old Bloomington man, was injured as well.
The name of the 18-year-old driver has not been released. Investigators are continuing to examine what caused the collision, and additional information may be released as the review progresses.
