Edwardsville, IL (August 5, 2026) – An officer was injured on Tuesday, August 4, after a van struck a squad car and entered a storefront in the 1500 block of Troy Road. The collision happened shortly before 10:00 a.m. near the Edwardsville Flea Market.
The van crossed part of the parking lot, hit a small raised island, and changed direction before entering the seasonal Honey Baked Ham store at 1508 Troy Road. The business was closed and was not scheduled to reopen until Thanksgiving.
Emergency units took the officer to a hospital with minor injuries. Part of the parking lot was sealed off while a tow truck removed the vehicle, as investigators continue to review the crash.
