Fairfax City, VA (May 21, 2026) – One person was hurt on Thursday, May 21, morning after a three-vehicle collision along Main Street at the Fairview Drive and Orchard Drive intersection in Fairfax City.
The roadway closure began around 7:20 a.m. after emergency units arrived to find two SUVs and one sedan with visible damage near the intersection. According to investigators, the chain-reaction wreck began when one driver failed to yield while making a left turn.
One person was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information about the accident had not been made public as of this report.
Eastbound lanes on Main St remained blocked for about an hour, causing heavy backups stretching toward Locust St near the Fairfax City Museum and Visitor Center. Traffic traveling westbound continued moving during the morning delay. By about 8:30 a.m., crews had cleared the roadway and reopened all lanes.
Police are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
