Why Neck Injuries Are Common in Traffic Collisions
Neck injuries frequently occur during vehicle crashes because the body can move suddenly and forcefully within seconds. Even at low speeds, the head and neck may snap forward and backward rapidly, straining muscles, ligaments, and joints.
Rear-end and side-impact collisions are often linked to whiplash and other soft tissue injuries. Symptoms may not appear immediately and can develop hours after the crash. Pain, stiffness, headaches, and reduced movement are among the issues commonly reported after these types of injuries. Medical evaluations are often recommended because some neck injuries may worsen without treatment, particularly when a person experiences ongoing discomfort or limited mobility after a roadway collision.
