Manhattan, KS (September 9, 2026) – One person was hurt in a two-car crash on Monday night on Bluemont Avenue in Manhattan.
The collision was reported around 10:09 p.m. in the 400 block of Bluemont Avenue. A Chevrolet Camaro driven by Kirsten Wallace-Newsome, 25, of Manhattan, collided with a Honda Accord driven by Sohil Mamon, 19, also of Manhattan.
Mamon was taken to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan for treatment of injuries. Wallace-Newsome received a citation for an unsafe lane change or merging.
Additional information about the extent of Mamon’s injuries was not immediately available. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. We hope Mamon makes a full recovery.
