Why Roadway Signage Matters After a Multi-Vehicle Collision
Traffic signs and signals help drivers judge speed, direction, and right-of-way at intersections. When signs are knocked down during a roadway collision, it can create added risks for approaching drivers long after the vehicles are removed. Missing or damaged signage may lead to confusion, delayed reaction times, or unsafe turns.
Cleanup efforts sometimes include removing debris, checking for fluid spills, and inspecting nearby traffic control devices. Temporary traffic measures could also be used until repairs are completed. In some cases, road crews replace signs within hours, while larger repairs can take longer depending on the extent of the damage.
Medical evaluations are also common after two-car wrecks, even when injuries first appear minor. Some pain symptoms may not fully develop until later in the day.
