Windsor, CT (June 9, 2026) – A 22-year-old Meriden man died on Tuesday morning after a Mercedes-Benz C300 and a tractor-trailer were involved on Interstate 91 South in Windsor.
The accident happened near Exit 35B. The highway was closed between exits 36 and 35B after a blockage, but it later reopened.
The report said the tractor-trailer was traveling in the center lane north of Exit 35B when it became involved in a collision with the Mercedes. The Mercedes driver, identified as Frank Jason Mute of Meriden, was pronounced dead at the site.
The tractor-trailer driver was not injured and declined medical treatment. The tractor-trailer was driven away, while the Mercedes sustained disabling damage and was towed.
