Tilton, NH (June 24, 2026) – One person suffered serious injuries following a three-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on Interstate 93 in Tilton.

According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers responded at approximately 2:26 p.m. on June 22 to a crash on southbound I-93 near mile marker 58 involving three vehicles.

The preliminary investigation determined that a Ford Focus driven by 76-year-old Dinah Tague of Kissimmee, Florida, was traveling southbound when it struck a Toyota 4Runner. The impact caused the Toyota to leave the roadway and enter a wooded area, where it sustained heavy damage.

Authorities said a tree subsequently fell onto the Toyota, trapping the driver inside the vehicle. Meanwhile, the Ford continued southbound and struck the rear of a Dodge Ram 1500 before leaving the roadway and crashing into trees.

Emergency responders worked to free the Toyota driver, who was transported to Concord Hospital with serious injuries. Information regarding the condition of the other drivers was not immediately released.

One southbound lane of Interstate 93 remained closed for approximately 90 minutes while emergency crews assisted those involved and removed the damaged vehicles, causing significant traffic delays.

State Police reported that Tague was issued summonses for speed, following too closely, a yellow line violation, and negligent driving. The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured driver makes a full and speedy recovery.

What Factors Are Examined in Multi-Vehicle Highway Crashes?

Crashes involving multiple vehicles on interstate highways can create complex investigations because several impacts may occur in rapid succession. Investigators examine vehicle movements, speeds, roadway conditions, and witness statements to determine how the sequence of events unfolded.

When a vehicle leaves the roadway after an initial collision, authorities may also review environmental factors and secondary impacts that contributed to injuries or vehicle damage. Physical evidence from the roadway and surrounding area can help reconstruct the crash.

Traffic violations, following distances, and driver actions are frequently analyzed as part of the investigative process. These findings help authorities establish a clearer understanding of the circumstances that led to the collision and resulting injuries.
