ONTARIO, San Bernardino County, Calif., Oct. 30, 2026 — A motorcyclist was hurt on Thursday evening, October 29, in a crash with a car on eastbound Interstate 10 near Milliken Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported in the eastbound lanes approaching Milliken Avenue. A gray or blue Toyota sedan was involved in the collision with the motorcycle. Responders found the rider conscious and sitting on the right shoulder after the crash, with traffic directed to that side of the roadway.
The Ontario Fire Department responded to the scene. Dispatch notes indicate the rider initially declined transport and signed a release against medical advice, then changed course and requested an ambulance, with the injury described at that time as minor. The rider was later taken to a hospital, though further details on the person's condition have not been released.
Caltrans freeway service patrol crews also assisted at the scene, and a tow truck was called to clear the vehicles. The CHP incident log does not indicate that alcohol, drugs, or speed played a role, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
We hope everyone who was hurt makes a full and speedy recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can drivers do to watch for motorcycles on freeways?
Checking mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes and allowing extra following distance give drivers more time to notice a motorcycle's smaller profile and react safely.
What should a motorcyclist do after being involved in a crash?
Riders should move to a safe area if possible, call 911, and get checked by medical personnel even if injuries seem minor at first, since some injuries are not immediately obvious.
Are intersections and ramp areas riskier for motorcycle crashes?
Yes, merging points and areas near exits or interchanges tend to see more motorcycle crashes because of lane changes and speed differences between vehicles.
Does road surface affect motorcycle safety?
Yes. Uneven pavement, debris, or wet surfaces affect motorcycles more than cars because riders have less stability and a smaller contact patch with the road.
