Oskaloosa, IA (January 22, 2026) – Six people were injured on Wednesday evening following a serious multi-vehicle accident on Highway 92 just east of Oskaloosa during adverse winter driving conditions.
The crash occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m. as an eastbound passenger vehicle driven by a teenage motorist from Oskaloosa attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the vehicle was stopped in the roadway when it was struck from behind by an eastbound semi-truck.
The force of the rear-end impact pushed the passenger car across the centerline, where it was then involved in a head-on collision with a westbound vehicle. The chain-reaction crash left all three vehicles damaged and resulted in injuries to all six occupants involved.
Emergency responders arrived quickly to assist those hurt in the collision. Paramedics evaluated the injured victims at the scene before transporting all six individuals by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Authorities did not release details regarding the severity of the injuries.
Traffic along Highway 92 was impacted as crews worked to assist victims, remove damaged vehicles, and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Winter weather conditions are believed to have played a role, though the incident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
Our thoughts are with everyone injured in this accident, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.
