Frequently Asked Questions
What injuries are most common in two-vehicle crashes like this one?
Neck and back strain, rib pain, and soft-tissue injuries are common even in moderate-speed collisions, especially at intersections where impact angles vary.
What usually causes crashes at intersections?
Failure to yield, running a signal or stop sign, distracted driving, and misjudged turns are frequent factors in intersection collisions.
Does speed make intersection crashes worse?
Yes. Higher speed increases the force of impact and the severity of injuries, even over short distances between vehicles.
Why is distracted driving especially risky at intersections?
Intersections demand quick decisions about gaps in traffic and right-of-way. A driver glancing at a phone or dashboard for even a second or two can miss a signal change or an oncoming vehicle.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Pasco, Washington
If you're involved in a collision in Pasco, move to a safe spot if possible and call 911 right away. Even injuries that feel minor at first, like neck or rib pain, can worsen over the next day or two, so getting checked by a medical provider is worth doing even if you feel okay at the scene. Exchange information with the other driver, take photos of the vehicles and intersection, and ask for a copy of the police report once it's filed. If emergency crews are still working the scene when you pass by, slow down and give them room.
