Pasco, WA (April 21, 2026) – Two people were seriously hurt after a car and a semi-truck collided at the intersection of Tank Farm Road and U.S. Highway 12 in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 21. The crash was reported at approximately 2:51 a.m.
According to authorities, the semi-truck was attempting to turn onto Tank Farm Road from Highway 12 when it failed to yield the right of way to the oncoming car. The car struck the semi-truck in the intersection.
Both the driver and the sole passenger of the car were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was not taken to the hospital following the collision.
Tank Farm Road and US-12 had already been identified as a high-risk intersection prior to this crash. It was designated as such under Washington Senate Bill 6066, which passed in January, following a pattern of similar collisions at that location.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as they become available. We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.

Senate Bill 6066, passed in January 2026, created a framework for addressing these locations across Washington. The goal is to reduce the number of serious injury and fatal crashes at spots where the road layout or traffic patterns have already proven dangerous. Intersections involving highway on- and off-ramps, or where large commercial vehicles must turn across traffic lanes, tend to draw particular attention under these reviews.
