Memphis, TN (June 6, 2026) – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle near Jackson Avenue and Buchanan Avenue at 3:07 a.m. early Friday morning.
Police were called at 3:07 a.m. on June 5. When they arrived, one person was pronounced dead at the roadway following the collision. Footage from the area showed one driver being detained by Memphis Police.
A passenger in the same vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-critical injuries. The driver remained at the site with investigators. Witness accounts described two vehicles traveling at high speed moments before the fatal strike, though those details remain under review.
