San Antonio, TX (June 16, 2026) – A man was killed on Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a roadway on San Antonio’s Northwest Side.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 6:15 a.m. in the 8700 block of Guilbeau Road near Tezel Road. Investigators said the man attempted to cross Guilbeau Road in front of an eastbound vehicle. The driver was unable to stop in time and struck the pedestrian.
The man, who the police said was believed to be experiencing homelessness, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that there was no designated crosswalk at the location where the collision occurred.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Detectives indicated that no charges are expected to be filed, as the incident appears to have been accidental. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The investigation remains ongoing.
