Dewey Co., OK (August 29, 2026) – A 62-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle late Thursday night, August 27, on Highway 270 near County Road 2360 in Dewey County. Emergency crews were called shortly before midnight.
According to investigators, a vehicle was traveling south on Highway 270 when it struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway.
Authorities said the driver attempted to avoid the pedestrian by leaving the roadway, but the collision still occurred.
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
