Fairfax, VA (August 18, 2026) – A man died on Sunday night after a Metrobus struck him at the intersection of Carlin Springs Rd and Columbia Pike.
The pedestrian crash occurred at approximately 8:32 p.m. on August 16 and involved an F20 Metrobus. The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The bus driver remained at the site after the collision. Carlin Springs Rd was closed in both directions following the wreck, causing traffic restrictions in the area.
No additional information about the man’s identity or the circumstances leading to the accident was immediately available. The investigation remains underway as detectives work to determine what led to the fatal collision. Our condolences go out to the man’s family and loved ones.
