Brooksville, FL (June 23, 2026) – A pedestrian lost their life following a traffic collision early on Monday morning near the intersection of Cortez Blvd and Deltona Blvd in Brooksville.
According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene during the early morning hours of June 22 after receiving reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, officials confirmed that the incident was fatal.
Authorities reported that the collision involved a vehicle striking a pedestrian near the busy Brooksville intersection. The identity of the victim has not been released, and additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash were not immediately available.
As emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene, westbound traffic on Cortez Blvd was closed at Deltona Blvd. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes until the roadway could be reopened.
