What Investigators Review in Multi-Vehicle Pedestrian Fatalities
When a pedestrian is struck by more than one vehicle, investigators work to establish the sequence of impacts and determine the positions and movements of everyone involved before the collision.
Factors commonly reviewed include roadway lighting, visibility, traffic conditions, vehicle speeds, and the pedestrian’s location on the roadway. Evidence such as vehicle damage, debris patterns, witness statements, and electronic vehicle data can help reconstruction teams determine how the incident unfolded. These findings are essential for understanding the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
