Roanoke, LA (June 23, 2026) – A pedestrian lost his life on Saturday night, June 21, after an accident on U.S. Route 90 near Roanoke. The collision happened around 9 p.m. near Farm Supply Road.
State police said 49-year-old Kelly Velayas of Texas was pushing a bicycle along U.S. Route 90 when he was hit by a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. Velayas died at the site of the wreck.
The fatal case remains under review as investigators continue gathering facts. We extend our sincere condolences to Velayas’ family and loved ones.
