Anchorage, AK (August 24, 2026) – A woman was killed early on Saturday, August 22, after being struck by an SUV at the intersection of the Seward Highway and Benson Boulevard in Midtown Anchorage. The collision was reported at approximately 1:20 a.m.
The police said the dark-colored SUV left the scene after hitting the pedestrian. The woman was found in the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Later Saturday, investigators located the SUV and contacted the driver. As of that afternoon, no charges or citations had been announced. The woman’s identity was being withheld pending notification of her family. Authorities continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run.
