Greenville, SC (September 3, 2026) – A pedestrian died early on Wednesday morning, September 2, after being struck by two vehicles on S Pleasantburg Dr in Greenville County. Emergency units were dispatched shortly after 4:30 a.m. to the intersection near Impact Dr.
The person was crossing the roadway when a Ford van pulling a utility trailer hit him. A pickup truck then struck the pedestrian, and its driver left the area.
The deceased was identified as 37-year-old Brett Michael Whitney of Greenville. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The fatal collision remains under review as investigators work to determine all the circumstances surrounding what happened.
