Hampton, VA (August 11, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed Sunday night, August 9, after being struck by a vehicle on West Mercury Boulevard near Big Bethel Road in Hampton. Police responded around 8:14 p.m. and found an adult man with life-threatening injuries at the scene.
The man was taken to Riverside Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. A preliminary investigation found that he was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of West Mercury Boulevard when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Our condolences go out to the victim’s loved ones following this tragic loss.
