Marion County, FL (July 29, 2026) – A fatal collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday on CR-329 just north of CR-320 in Marion County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan was traveling south on CR-329 when it struck a tree and a pedestrian who was near the roadway.
The pedestrian was cutting a fallen tree with a chainsaw when the vehicle hit the tree, causing the collision, according to troopers. The person was pronounced dead following the collision. No identity was released in the initial report.
