Perry, GA (July 29, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Hwy 41 North near the Highway 96 intersection in Houston County on Monday night, July 27. The accident happened at approximately 10:45 p.m.
The Houston County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian as 73-year-old John David West of Perry. According to investigators, West was struck by a 2011 Kia Sedona while the vehicle was traveling north on Hwy 41.
The driver told investigators that West was walking south in the middle of the northbound lane when the Kia Sedona struck him. West was pronounced dead at the scene.
