How Fatal Freeway Crashes Are Examined After a Collision
Fatal freeway crashes require a detailed review of the scene, vehicles, and surrounding roadway conditions. Investigators may examine vehicle damage, debris patterns, lane positions, and other physical evidence to help determine how the collision occurred.
Other information, including witness accounts, available video footage, and roadway conditions, may also be considered during the review process. These details can help provide a clearer understanding of the events before and during the crash while helping identify factors that may have contributed to the incident.
