Why Personal Boat Accidents Can Lead to Injuries
Personal boat accidents can cause injuries even when they happen close to shore. Boats may shift suddenly with waves, current, or steering changes, and passengers can be thrown against seats, rails, docks, or other hard surfaces. A person may also fall into the water after contact between vessels.
Marine crashes can be harder to assess than roadway crashes because wind, boat speed, visibility, and water movement may all affect how the vessels came together. Medical teams may check for head, neck, back, shoulder, arm, or leg injuries after a boat collision. Boat damage, witness statements, operator actions, and water conditions can help explain how the crash happened.
