Pettis Co, MO (January 29, 2026) – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck early on Thursday morning on Whitfield Rd near 3rd Rd, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred just after midnight, around 12:05 a.m., when a 2013 Ram 1500, driven by a 45-year-old man from Humansville, was traveling eastbound on Whitfield Rd. Authorities say the truck struck a 32-year-old pedestrian from Sedalia who was walking in the roadway at the time of the crash.
Pettis County emergency services responded quickly to the scene. The pedestrian, who was not using any visible safety devices, suffered serious injuries and was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center for emergency treatment. The driver of the Ram was reportedly uninjured and remained at the scene. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven away after the investigation.
Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, including visibility and roadway conditions at the time. No charges or citations have been announced as of yet.
