Philadelphia, PA (January 27, 2026) – A pursuit involving a fleeing vehicle near N Broad St and W Airdrie St on January 26 resulted in injuries to two police officers after a crash that ended the chase. The officers, whose names have not been released, suffered hand and eye injuries and were transported to Temple Hospital for evaluation.
The suspect vehicle, last seen heading northbound on Broad St toward Airdrie, was occupied by two males. Attempts to subdue one of the individuals reportedly involved the deployment of a taser, though its effectiveness remains unconfirmed. The pursuit was ultimately called off due to environmental and weather-related concerns.
Emergency communications indicated that both officers sustained injuries from glass and debris during the incident. While the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, further medical assessments were underway as of the last report.
