Head-On Pickup Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries
Head-on crashes can be severe because vehicles are moving toward each other when contact occurs. When pickups are involved, the size and weight of the vehicles can increase the force placed on drivers and passengers.
A camper can add more challenges during a collision. Extra weight may affect how a vehicle slows, turns, or reacts after impact. It can also create more debris or make recovery work more complicated.
Rural highways can carry traffic at steady speeds, leaving drivers with little time to react if a vehicle crosses into an opposing lane. After a serious roadway accident, reviews usually focus on travel direction, speed, lane position, road surface, and where each vehicle came to rest.
